The property known as Little and Big Pine Islands is located south of Oakhaven Plantation off Rifle Range Road in Mount Pleasant, SC and is only accessible via the waterways to the south. The property was donated to the South Carolina Aquarium on August 3rd, 2018. The donor was exclusively represented by DeWees Real Estate Group on a consultation and transactional brokerage basis. The South Carolina Aquarium’s CEO, Kevin Mills, has stated that “The Aquarium plans to assess the properties potential for research and education, but at a minimum, we are pleased to be able to steward an uninhabited marshland that represents a vital habitat for many native species.”
